SONGS
Writing songs is like any other form of writing, only louder.
Despite being relatively new to songwriting, if I list all the songs I have written or co-written, the bullet points would look like a CVS reciept. In short, I’ve written songs and theme songs for DISNEY TELEVISION, STUDIO GHIBLI, DREAMWORKS TV, and most famously PJ MASKS for E-ONE ENTERTAINMENT. I’ve adapted lyrics from French and German on some Features (which I love to do) and co written a Christmas song for Scouting for Girls, as well as having 5 co-writes on the first release of pop band LAURA CROWE & HIM. I’ve also now co-written two animated musicals! Watch this space.
IN HOUSE CREATIVE EXEC:
2008 – 2010: Senior Manager Creative Development EMEA, - DISNEY CHANNEL UK
2001 – 2002: Executive Producer, Development - CARLTON
RAN AN ANIMATION STUDIO:
1998 - 2001: I set up and ran Peafur Productions with my wife for the purposes of co-producing two series both co created with Alan Gilbey. The studio ran pre and post production, and also produced the odd animated advert.
AWARDS:
I personally have a Bafta, Gemini, Leo and a Cannes Silver Lion on my shelf. I also have a trophy wife and together we were nominated for an Annie and International Emmy. Meanwhile, I’ve helped others garner 3 Oscar noms, 4 BAFTA noms with 2 wins - including Best Animated Series, another Leo - Best Animated Series, a few Royal Television Society wins, Chicago Film Fest wins, Annecy noms and more. Then again lawyers give one another awards at swish annual dinners. Best hostile takeover? Best closing arguments? Awards are silly.
